Swing ‘N Hops Street Party is a free featured event in Palm Desert’s First Weekend in February. This outdoor event brings together swing music performed by a live band, craft beer gardens, gourmet food booths, a classic car show with cars from the 1920s – 1940s, a swing dance party complete with instruction and era specific fashion.

Everyone is invited to Swing ‘N Hops Street Party, whether you are a professional, enthusiast, or new to the dance style. Instruction will be provided early in the day for swing newcomers so that they too can get in on the dancing fun. For those who feel a bit more artistic there will be a hands on art project to partake in, and there is always room for those who just want to sit back enjoy the beautiful surroundings and enjoy a craft beer and good food.

Local community members, as well as desert lovers and swing enthusiasts from throughout the region are invited to indulge in this Swing ‘N Hops Street Party that will be held on El Paseo, Palm Desert’s famed shopping street known for its art galleries, high end stores, and restaurants. The median of the street is lined with more than 20 sculptures, including 18 in the median that are rotated every two years. One long block of the street will be closed down for the party. The event is timed to give the opportunity for party goes to visit the restaurants and stores on El Paseo after the party ends.
